Transdek UK, the loading and lifting equipment innovator, has secured ISO 9001 accreditation for a second consecutive year, providing customers with independent verification of the company’s quality management standards.

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. It applies to the processes that create and control the products and services an organisation supplies, and prescribes a systematic control of activities to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met.

Maintaining the ISO 9001 accreditation illustrates that Transdek operate to these quality management standards and includes processes for continual improvement. The audit at Transdek was conducted by ISOQAR, part of the Alcumus Group, which was established in 1991 as one of the first independent certification bodies in the UK.

Commenting on the accreditation, Mark Wemyss, Lead Auditor at ISOQAR, said: “A thorough audit was made and Transdek proved it has a well established quality management system.”

At Transdek, quality has always been a key driver in the design and production of its range of modular hydraulic lifts to service double deck trailers, which are manufactured in Britain at the company’s site near Doncaster. Transdek demonstrated that their processes ensure that the award winning lifts can be installed in one or two days to minimise onsite disruption.

Earlier in 2013, Transdek was also named a safecontractor approved company for the fourth year running, demonstrating its continued commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety. This involved auditors examining Transdek’s health and safety procedures and its track record for safe working practice, which was classified as exemplary.

Transdek is a UK based designer and manufacturer of strategic, innovative loading bay equipment and multi award-winning loading systems, aimed at improving efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness, as well as to enhance future logistics sustainability.

The company won a second Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for its continued innovation in the production and installation of hydraulic lifts to load and unload double deck lorries in 2012.
