A3_Wrap_IMHX_Sup_WLN_0313-1The new reach truck model shares many of the advanced features of Toyota’s class-leading BT Reflex standard R-series model, including the unique Transitional Lift Control system for fast but secure working at height, the powerful AC motors, 360° steering and the advanced driver cab with the ‘Totalview’ concept. However the main difference with the BT Reflex O-series can be seen at ground level, where the traditional wheel and gearbox configuration has been changed to allow effective work on outdoor surfaces.

This special truck can work on uneven or rough ground due to a high ground clearance of 145mm and the treaded super-elastic tyres mean secure grip on wet or loose surfaces or worn asphalt. The heavy-duty gearbox is adapted to suit the revised drive-wheel configuration and three-wheel braking completes the package, to ensure safety and reliability.

Drive Downs Costs with Toyota’s Training Simulator

For the first time in the UK, Toyota will be presenting their unique operator training forklift simulator to show visitors how they can drive down damage costs.

Toyota has developed the World’s first forklift simulator in order to identify poor habits and improve driving techniques without moving a wheel. The simulator offers a great opportunity to increase awareness of operator driving and identify areas for improvement, in order to improve safety and drive down the costs of damage.

The purpose of this simulator is to significantly raise awareness of the risks involved in the complex process of materials handling and the cost of getting it wrong. The simulator uses three display screens to allow users to see forward, side and rear views. Operators are timed to see how long it takes them to accomplish various tasks which include; vehicle loading /unloading and travelling up and down ramps. During the simulation operators will need to be observant and take the correct actions as they follow the course, for example; at blind corners they will need to look for other site traffic and observe pedestrian walkways. Visitors to IMHX will get the chance to trial the simulator and be assessed on their driving skill. Visitors will need to check availability and register on the main Toyota stand (20F70).
