Three important new additions to the range of materials handling equipment available from European Conveyor Systems are being shown for the first time in the UK at IMHX in March. Designed by ECS’s German partner, Gebhardt Ferdertechnik, the new equipment significantly broadens the company’s materials handling capabilities.
The Cheetah is a high-speed mini-load storage and retrieval machine with exceptional speed, energy-efficiency and positioning accuracy. The use of materials such as carbon-fibre and aluminium has reduced weight considerably, resulting in low energy usage, travel speeds up to 6.5m/sec, maximum payload of 120kg and maximum lift height of 12 metres. Compact dimensions minimise the space required, and the lattice-type mast design provides excellent strength and stability, resulting in accurate positioning at full speed.
ECS is also showing the StoreBiter shuttle system for the first time at IMHX, developed by Gebhardt for handling a wide variety of bins and cartons in automated mini-load warehouses. StoreBiter 300 equipment can handle loads up to 50kg and can be installed with single-level or multi-level capability. A wide variety of features and specifications are available to suit different requirements. Handling throughputs can be maximised by integrating the Gebhardt Dynamic Handover System (DHS), which connects storage and retrieval machines with the shuttle equipment to reduce running distances, increase system output and lower energy consumption.
A revolutionary new type of conveyor system based on modules with integral mechanical and electrical connectivity that can be put into operation by end-users is also being introduced by ECS at IMHX. The Gebhardt System 600 is designed to provide maximum flexibility in warehouses that need to respond to changing logistics demands without installing a permanent dedicated conveyor system for every requirement. The equipment is available at short notice and is easy for non-specialist staff to install and commission.
