Schoeller Allibert, the world leader in plastic reusable transit packaging (RTP), will be using this year’s IMHX exhibition to demonstrate how its range of innovative RTP products and services can be used to reduce emissions, cut logistics and packaging costs and improve supply chain performance.
For the first time the company’s stand at IMHX (17Q100) will showcase the broadest range of plastic RTP available from a single source, following the rebranding of LINPAC Allibert and Schoeller Arca Systems as one company earlier this year. Schoeller Allibert customers can now access combined expertise and the widest range of innovative products.
The use of plastic RTP is growing as the logistics industry seeks to reduce the cost and environmental impact of packaging and transporting goods. Visitors to stand 17Q100 at IMHX will discover how Schoeller Allibert RTP products and services have the potential to deliver significant environmental and cost savings for every customer.
Simon Knights, UK Commercial Director from Schoeller Allibert, explains: “We are the first transit packaging manufacturer to have the full life cycle carbon footprint of specific products determined and independently verified. This has proved that the Product Carbon Footprint of our RTP is 68% less than cardboard – just 26 kgCO2e for each of our best-selling Maxinest units.
“We are expecting the environmental credentials of our products to generate a lot of interest at IMHX -particularly because the evidence shows that Schoeller Allibert plastic RTP is more carbon efficient than single trip cardboard after just 20 trips and will pay for itself after just twelve trips. With a reusable life of at least 92 trips and rental services available for those who do not want to make the upfront capital investment in the units, it’s easy to see why both the cost and emissions reduction of our RTP makes it very attractive.”
Visitors to the Schoeller Allibert stand will be able to find out how they can improve transport efficiencies by ensuring they are using the full capacity of each vehicle and not transporting ‘fresh air’. Schoeller Allibert will calculate the number of full crates per pallet and per lorry for outward deliveries, as well as providing the number of empty folded or nested crates that each pallet and lorry can carry on the return journey. All that visitors need to bring with them is information on the available vehicle height and the number of pallet spaces on the vehicle. If pallet height is restricted in warehouses, the software can also calculate double stacked loads so customers benefit from maximum vehicle fill without compromising health and safety.
The show will give visitors an early chance to see forthcoming Schoeller Allibert products such as Interfold, a new folding tray specifically designed to inter-stack with the Maxinest range of nesting trays used as standard in the UK. Developed for trans-European shipments, the scalloped vertical sides of the Interfold tray enable it to fit more products in each container. Yet when empty, a unique catch system releases the sides allowing it to fold flat, saving valuable space and cost on the return journey. Traditional folding trays take physical effort to knock down and wear over time. Interfold’s innovative catch helps to reduce the danger of RSI (repetitive strain injury) and protects the tray from damage.
Another upcoming product on display at IMHX is the Minipac, a quarter-footprint reusable wheeled folding merchandising unit designed to help retailers attract and retain the growing number of convenience shoppers. Minipac will offer a one touch distribution, merchandising and stock replenishment system that enables retailers to offer more product choice in less space. The product will be ideal for the narrower aisles and restricted display area of the convenience store format.
Existing customer favourites on the stand will include the Optimum Folding Large Container (FLC), the Clever Move Box (CMB) folding hand held crate, the award-winning Maxinest Plus tray and Integra Attached Lid Containers (ALC), together with a comprehensive range of pallets, dollies and containers.
