Evidence that UK industry is becoming more competitive reflects the record sales achieved in 2012 by transport optimisation software company Paragon Software Systems. The company also reports a significant rise in existing customers extending the use of the software with additional installations across more sites. To meet the demand the Dorking-based firm hired new personnel and has introduced many innovations in routing and scheduling optimisation over the year to help companies further streamline their delivery operations.

“The high price of fuel, which also affects other areas, requires fleet operators to make every drop of diesel count. Part of this  efficiency drive has resulted in an increasing number of companies investing in  our software to help them improve their efficiencies and reduce costs. We are  continuing to expand our client base in the UK and globally, especially in the US and Europe. Because of our consistent growth, we have hired more people to support the business and to maintain our high quality of service,” says William Salter, Managing Director, Paragon Software Systems.

“This has also  been a year of innovation for Paragon. We introduced new mapping tools to meet  the logistics demands of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, special functionality to avoid low bridges automatically when planning transport and a Chinese version of the software for customers operating in or planning to expand into China,” he adds.

IJ McGill Transport, Just Go! Holidays and Polar Speed Distribution are among the new clients who purchased Paragon  software in 2012 with other well established users including Glanbia, The  Co-operative, ASDA, News International and Gist reporting savings as a result of using the Paragon system.

In the USA Faust Distributing Company, Goody Goody Liquors and Koch join Paragon’s portfolio of North American and Canadian customers.
