While the insulated Hörmann SPU sectional door has become the reference point for the vast majority of loading doors the new SB rolling shutter demonstrates that the most basic of doors can be improved through innovative component design and attention to detail.
Though available as a grille or single skinned door, the version with insulated Decotherm laths has proven to be the most popular. This is simply because it is lighter, stronger, better insulated and comparable in price to single skinned doors from other manufacturers.
All SB roller doors and grilles benefit from innovative tension spring technology which ensures that little effort is required to open and close them manually. This ease of use adds to the longevity of these doors, leading to even better value for money.
The design of the SB roller shutters and grilles makes them easier and quicker to fit, as the entire door construction, including support brackets and side guides is secured to the building’s structure. Plastic runners and brush seals in the side guides ensure quiet door travel and with only 165mm of side room needed for the compact side guides, this door can be fitted in the tightest of spaces.
All hinged doors benefit from the same approach whether it is fully glazed office doors, fire rated doors or emergency exit doors. Precision is the key to ensuring long term reliability and value for money. Good thermal and acoustic insulation adds to the credentials of these doors.
With sustainability a key factor in many new developments Hörmann has already created a database of relevant environmental characteristics for all its multi-function doors, allowing the company to issue independently certified environmental product declarations.
