QTS the UK’s leading manufacturer of wire mesh decking and anti-collapse systems, today announces the successful completion of a two year project, bringing total manufacturing in house for the first time.

The company which is to celebrate its 10th year in business, began setting up its own factory in 2010, as part of its commitment to continual improvement and offering their distributors the highest quality products at the lowest prices.

The new facility in the heart of the pallet racking manufacturing district of Nanjing, China, occupies a 25,000sft custom designed facility complete with the latest automated plant. QTS expects both production efficiency and overall quality to be improved further by having total control over build quality.

Shaun Ingram, Managing Director comments ‘Having our own factory, really sets QTS apart from the competition. Not only are we a leading designer of mesh based products, but we are now a true manufacturer. The latest developments will not only allow QTS to offer a flexible service, but be an added assurance to our customers that buying Chinese manufactured products does not mean poor quality- something we have worked hard to remove the stigma of’.

The factory will be supported by the UK design office, at the company’s Headquarters in Hinckley, with the entire design process completed in-house, from pre-design studies, prototyping to extensive product testing.

The new factory is part of a long line of initiatives introduced over the past year by QTS. In May, a satellite manufacturing plant was introduced at the Hinckley headquarters, producing small batches of customised mesh decks with reduced lead-times of between 2-4 weeks.

Abi Owen, Commercial Director adds, ‘The final push to bring the factory fully online was made with our plans for IMHX 2013. With the new factory we can produce a wide range of mesh products which we will be showcasing during the show’.
