We are sad to report that Dennis Pickering, the long-standing Marketing Manager at TVH UK, passed away on Saturday 25th August after being ill for some time.
Dennis had been with TVH for the last 14 years, after working for Yale Materials Handling. While at TVH he was instrumental in building the company’s UK operation from scratch into a multi-million pound turnover business, providing replacement parts for all materials handling equipment. Dennis was also in charge of TVH’s UK parts marketing and its UK catalogues Parts from Coventry and Consumables.
Dennis was very well respected by all his colleagues and extremely well liked within the warehousing and logistics industry both here and in Europe, and will be sorely missed as a rare commodity in an age of grey, corporate suits.
Dennis’ longtime colleague and friend Danny McAllister, General Manager of TVH UK & Ireland, says “he had a great sense of humour and enjoyed playing The Thompson Twins to cheer me up first thing in the morning. He never failed to make me smile and his knowledge of our market seemed to have no boundaries, Dennis will be missed by everyone who knew him, not just as a friend but also as an extremely good businessman.”
Dennis’s funeral was held on Tuesday 5th September. We at Grandflame would like to pass on our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
