To meet the growing demand for its range of environmentally friendly pallet wrapping film and machinery solutions, Gloucestershire-based Golden Valley Pallet Wrap Specialists Ltd (GVPS) has opened a new warehouse and national distribution centre.
The new facility, which is next to the company’s existing site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, enables Golden Valley to further increase its stock of pallet wrapping film products.
“We receive deliveries of pallet wrap film from suppliers all over the world and as part of our service commitment to our clients, we aim to fulfill orders within 24 hours. This means we need to hold extensive stocks,” explains Suzanne Griffiths, managing director of Golden Valley.
“We rely on an efficient supply chain model and last year we were able to increase storage capacity at our existing store by adopting very narrow aisle storage technology but, quite simply, demand has increased by such a level that we need more storage space,” she adds.
The additional store will allow GVPS to hold over £1.2 million of product.
Although only a relatively young company – the business was started just three years ago – Golden Valley has already established itself as one of the leading suppliers of film to both end users and merchants throughout the UK.
The company was recently awarded British Retail Consortium (BRC) Certification for its range of packaging film and machinery. Certification to a BRC Standard demonstrates that a company’s products achieve the highest standards of safety and quality.
