An innovative new printing facility installed by Structure-flex Limited, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of flexible fabric products, has been unveiled by North Norfolk MP and Business Minister Norman Lamb in an official ceremony at the company’s headquarters in North Norfolk.

The new Durst Rho 320 HS large-format digital printer will provide Structure-flex’s Graphics Division with the very latest printing techniques, enabling the company to create unrivalled quality of continuous, high definition, graphics on PVC coated fabrics, including the ability to print white ink.

Structure-flex has a long-established reputation for the supply of stunning graphic products for use in a large range of industries with considerable expertise in the production of eye-catching commercial vehicle curtains, outdoor advertising banners and building wraps, and event signage.

Paul Reeve, General Manager at Structure-flex, explained: “Throughout the company’s 40 year history, we have invested constantly in the latest technology to maintain our competitive advantage and this latest printing facility is part of that on-going programme.

“The new Durst model commissioned is a very advanced piece of equipment. It offers unrivalled print technologies and state of the art application techniques that give a faster, better-defined image that will appeal to marketing and design agencies looking to create an amazing visual impact.”

Uniformly distributing six colour inks to produce exceptional image quality at 600dpi, the printer is capable of reproducing complicated liveries and complex patterns on any colour fabric including the traditional white. Previously, for some applications, this process would have been done by hand so the new facilities will enable Structure-flex to deliver modern, cost-effective advertising options in even shorter timeframes.

Officially unveiling the new machinery at Structure-flex’s operations in Melton Constable on 3rd August was Norman Lamb, North Norfolk MP and Business Minister. Commenting after the event, he said:

“Every single day on our roads we see haulage vehicles adorned with some wonderful graphics and give little thought to the advanced manufacturing processes and skills needed to create such masterpieces.

“In these hard economic times, it is increasingly important for businesses to take every opportunity to advertise their products and services and modern printing facilities, like these at Structure-flex, are helping designers and marketers become more innovative.”

Structure-flex provides a complete design, consultation and manufacturing service and includes; Greene King, Irn-Bru, Wilkinger Hot Dogs and Skinner’s Pet Foods amongst its many customers.
