Toyota introduce new cartoon characters representing trucks from the Toyota Material Handling range to help educate children about health and safety.

As part of ‘Taking Care with Toyota’ a new children’s activity book including newly developed cartoon characters based on the Toyota range has been developed by Toyota Material Handling UK, introducing children to health and safety information in a fun and engaging way.

Tony Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director Toyota Material Handling UK explains: “Safety is part of everything we do at Toyota, we believe that health and safety goes beyond looking after our employees and customers within the workplace to look after well-being in life away from the workplace.”

He added: “With our new characters we aim to bring a little fun to learning about safety and giving children something they can be involved with and relate to.”

The new activity book which includes information on how to cross a road safely, how to eat a healthy diet and what not to do near a railway presents children with fun activities and tasks to help them learn through play. The characters led by Freddie Forklift are based on equipment from the Toyota product range and include: Percy Pallet, Sammi Stacker, Tess Tow Tractor and Rex Reach as well as key people from the materials handling process: Anita Apprentice, Tony Technician and Dave Driver.

The new activity books developed by Toyota Material Handling UK will be available from Toyota’s regional show stand which is currently on tour around the country and is due to stop at New Forest & Hampshire in July, followed by the Pembrokeshire in August, Health & Safety Midlands in September and Health & Safety North in October. They can also be obtained direct from the website.
