Cirrus Logistics, provider of decision support software for the supply chain industry, is proud to have received the Queen’s Award for ‘Outstanding Performance in International Trade’. The accolade is designed to honour exceptional companies in the UK for innovation, international trade and sustainable development.

Cirrus Logistics won the award for its tremendous growth in exports under the ‘Outstanding Performance in International Trade’ category. Cirrus Logistics was established in the late 80’s to provide easy-to-use decision support software solutions through applying advanced scheduling, simulation and optimisation techniques.

The recent growth in sales of the company’s two major products – CLASS and SEABERTH, contributed to an overseas earnings growth of 148% between 2009 and 2011, with total turnover increasing by 92%.

CLASS is the leading warehouse layout design and simulation tool used extensively in the 3rd party logistics, retail and manufacturing sectors. SEABERTH is an operational berth scheduling tool for busy international ports, principally used in the oil and gas sectors – including at Qatar’s RasLaffan port, one of the largest in the world.

During the period from 2009 to 2011 the company entered 11 new markets across Europe, Asia and America; resulting in exports to 25 countries across five continents. Cirrus Logistics continues to invest in new markets to ensure future growth and opened an office in Chicago last year. In view of the tremendous growth the company has also seen in Asia, it held its first user group in Singapore.

“We’re extremely proud to have received this award; it’s a great acknowledgement of our efforts, as a small business that has grown into overseas markets over the last 3 years. It’s also very rewarding to the team at Cirrus Logistics, who have been responsible for these impressive results,” commented Simon Shore, managing director of Cirrus Logistics. “Today we still have the same aim of providing easy to use, reliable products that we’ve developed to solve real world problems, complemented by a strong customer-centric service ethos. We’re launching the new generation of CLASS this summer and we have many other exciting product developments in the pipeline.

Cirrus Logistics would like to thank the Queen’s Awards Committee for this recognition. ”
