Supply of 28 crane installations to serve automotive press lines

Ongoing partnership between BMW and Demag Cranes

Demag Cranes has reinforced its position as a market leader in the automotive sector with the receipt of a major order from BMW. The company has received an order from the vehicle manufacturer to supply a total of 28 cranes to serve press lines at its locations in Leipzig, Regensburg and Dingolfing. The order includes 23 process cranes with lifting capacities of up to 55 tonnes, two semi-portal cranes, one full portal crane and two standard cranes. The order highlights the proven and longstanding relationship between the two companies. BMW has been using Demag Cranes’ technology in its production activities for decades.

This order is the second significant contract, placed with Demag Cranes, by BMW within the last four years. In 2008, nine process crane systems were delivered to BMW plants at Leipzig, Regensburg and Dingolfing.

Dr. Lars Brzoska, Executive Vice President of Industrial Cranes and Member of the Executive Committee at Demag Cranes, sees the order as a result of a consistent commitment to the customer, Which includes products and after sales services:

“We focus on sustainability in our customer relationships. We endeavour to demonstrate to our customers the proven reliability and efficiency of our products and services. We are pleased that BMW is continuing to count on us for this exciting project.”
