Linde Material Handling has scooped the Environmental award in the Forklift Truck Association Awards (FLTA) 2012 for its 394 displacement pump.

The annual awards, run by the FLTA, represent the industry’s foremost recognition of engineering and design excellence. Held to celebrate the best companies within the fork lift truck industry, the awards aim to set the bar for higher standards throughout the industry, from apprentices to senior teams, and manufacturers to ancillary equipment suppliers.

The new 394 displacement pump is a specially designed axial piston displacement pump and has enhanced the Linde H40 to H50 IC truck range, helping to further reduce noise and energy consumption by up to 18 per cent. Replacing the previous internal gear pump, this new innovation has meant that truck hydraulics and engine speed are no longer dependent on one another.

Three other Linde products were also shortlisted for awards. The popular K-Truck range was shortlisted for the Ergonomics category for its new split controls and unique tilting barrier, the driving path warning device, Blue Spot, was shortlisted for the Safety Award and the intelligent software system for optimised VNA truck performance, Lindes Navman, was shortlisted for the Innovation category.

Lindes sales and marketing director, Andrew Dalysaid it was a great achievement that all their entries had been shortlisted and that the 394 displacement pump scooped the Environmental award.

The fact that we have made it through to the final round in all four categories that we entered is testament to the innovative product development that we have continued to show throughout 2011. We are extremely happy to have won the Environmental Award for the 394 displacement pump. Developing new green technology is definitely a priority for us at Linde and its great that our efforts have been recognised by winning this award.

We strive to achieve excellent standards in our engineering design and ensure that our products are as efficient, safe and as easy to use as they can possibly be. We look forward to further developing our products in 2012 and hope to have similar results in next years awards.
