Loading systems specialist, Transdek, has recently supplied its 250th Mezzanine Floor Lift, with the installation of a second specialist goods lift at Wiltshire-based Black Hole Storage.

Based in Salisbury, Black Hole Storage specialises in domestic and commercial self-storage for short or long-term requirements. Due to increasing demand the company opened a second facility and immediately ordered another lift from Transdek to allow easy access to the upper floor area.

“From our initial enquiry through to the installation of both lifts, Transdek kept to deadlines and offered us all of the information we needed,” says Leon Antone, owner of Black Hole Storage. “The lifts have provided us with reliable service from the start and we are very happy with Transdek’s service.”

The preferred choice of product for an ever-growing number of companies – from single-unit operators to large, multinational retailers – Transdek’s mezzanine floor lifts enable the efficient movement of products between floors at warehouses, self storage units, retail outlets and factories.

Being surface mounted, with no requirement for pits or civils works, the lifts are typically installed in one to two days, offering a fast, cost effective means to convert any factory or warehouse for safe mezzanine floor access. Each lift is tailor made to meet specific site specifications, with designs based on comprehensive site surveys. All equipment is supplied with a range of safety features that exceed all current lifting regulations.

With installations throughout the UK, Transdek’s mezzanine floor lifts handle the movement of products for companies including British Airways, Canon, Carphone Warehouse and Sprung Slumber.

In line with its commitment to continuous product development to add value to customer operations, Transdek has recently added new, heavy-duty electrical interlocks on the lift gates to ensure longevity of use and has redesigned the platform to give greater strength, without adding weight or depth.

Transdek’s design and innovation team is also currently working on a weight sensing capability for its mezzanine floor lifts.

According to the Yorkshire-based manufacturer-supplier, over 50% of its mezzanine floor lift business is based on repeat orders. “We are obviously proud that, having worked hard to develop a quality product with a high level of safety features, our customers are clearly happy with the end result,” says Dean Butler, Transdek’s Engineering Manager.

“With over 70 trained service agents offering nationwide 24/7 365-day emergency technical assistance, we feel confident in offering a very high level of customer support throughout the UK.”

Transdek is a UK manufacturer of strategic, innovative loading bay equipment and multi award-winning loading systems, designed to improve efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness and to enhance future logistics sustainability.
