Iconic car manufacturer Land Rover has taken delivery of a modular canopy building at its Solihull based car plant to provide protection from inclement weather conditions for delivery drivers and workers responsible for unloading goods and components.

The canopy, supplied by Spaciotempo UK Ltd, a leading provider of temporary structures to industry, is located adjacent to the assembly plant with a further structure providing an undercover link between the buildings – ensuring goods arrive in clean, dry and in tip top condition.

The 600 sq m building has an eave height of 6m and a ridge height of 11m which provides ample space for large trucks to be comfortably unloaded. The frame is manufactured from anodised aluminium and has snow and wind loading equivalent to permanent buildings, providing a robust solution for the delivery of goods.

Securely fixed to a hard standing area at the plant, the canopy was efficiently installed by the Spaciotempo team using a proven hard ground fixing system which negates the need for lengthy civils work prior to installation.

Scott Jameson, Director of Sales at Spaciotempo, was very pleased to have worked with the team at Land Rover to supply the canopy.

“The structure we supplied is an ideal solution for protecting delivery staff and their goods at the point of delivery at Land Rover. The British weather conditions necessitate a covered, area and the Spaciotempo canopy has enabled the company to manage their space efficiently and effectively.”
