Merseyside-based conveyor manufacturer Sovex Ltd has secured a new deal to distribute its products into the Asia-Pacific markets. The agreement with MAE Models group gives the Malaysian material handling specialists sole rights for the distribution of Sovex’s range of vehicle loading conveyors into China, Southeast Asia and Australasia.
Sovex Operations Director, Malcolm Dooley is excited about the new deal: “Following several successful contracts into China, the Asian and Australasian markets are areas which we have been keen to focus on for some time now. There are established links for products coming out of China into Europe, but not enough trade flows in the other direction. Asian customers are keen to see quality products being imported from the U.K., and we are confident that our new agreement with MAE will see great success for both companies”.
BK Ong, Managing Director at MAE Malaysia, agrees with Malcolm: “We are certain that our expertise in these markets, combined with the excellent range of static and mobile boom conveyors from Sovex, will allow us to provide our customers with quality products at the right price”.
MAE will also be using its 80,000m2 facility and 300 staff – based in Batu Pahat, Malaysia – to add additional value to the deal. Some final assembly will be completed there, and the dedicated R&D department at MAE will help to continue Sovex’s tradition of offering bespoke products to suit customers’ requirements.
