The design team at Sovex Systems have hit the ground running in the first quarter of 2011, with more innovative improvements being added to the Merseyside-based company’s range of telescopic boom conveyor designs.

Sovex have previously claimed that their range of static and mobile boom conveyors is the easiest on the market to install and maintain, and the team, led by Managing Director David Lindfield, show little signs of resting on their laurels in the New Year.

Sales Director Steve Nuttall details 2011’s innovations: “Traditionally, boom conveyors have either been mounted at ground level for unloading small vehicles, or at high level (or on a dock) for unloading larger trailers. However, through close collaboration with our customers, we identified a gap in the market for a boom conveyor which will do both. Our design team has worked hard to finalise the ‘Bendi Boom, which does just that, and more”.

The Bendi Boom allows operators to load and unload a wide range of vehicles – from box vans to 45’, double-deck trailers – using one machine, thanks to it’s patented front boom which bends down to an angle of 25°. This allows operators to decline the front boom down to the height of a small van, or raise it up to the height of a double-deck trailer, all without the need for altering the height of the main boom, meaning straightforward integration with larger systems. The front end of the boom remains at an ergonomic working height, reducing the risk of operator injury, through the full range of vehicles.

Steve goes on: “Previous designs required additional conveyors, which meant the overall boom was larger and restricted space inside building. Our Bendi Boom retracts fully into the main casing, meaning closed length is unchanged from our existing range of conveyors.

The design has proved so successful during testing that we have already taken three large orders for delivery this summer.”

The Bendi Boom option is available throughout Sovex’s range of static boom conveyors, and fits with the company’s ethos of robust, easy-to-maintain conveyor systems, which are all fully underguarded and compliant with EN 619. Sovex is taking orders immediately, and welcomes demonstrations of the technology at its manufacturing facilities on the Wirral – contact Steve Nuttall to make an appointment today.
