The second in a series of successful seminars focusing on the UK retail and wholesale market, for Irish food producers and manufacturers looking to explore export opportunities, has taken place in Cork, with the next event now planned for the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Thursday 16th June.
Continuing to gather momentum and interest, the events, organized by Oakland International, welcome many Irish businesses, with the Cork seminar addressed by a number of keynote speakers including; Gordon Walker of Landmark Wholesale, Liam Gilbert from IGD, Mark Hancock from Kozy Shack, Rob Cross from The Dairy Trader, Peter Massey from May & Raeburn, Tadhg O’Donovan from Glenilen Farm and Dean Attwell from Oakland International, summing up the day’s proceedings.
Speakers detailed crucial elements involved when dealing with UK retailers. Oakland International’s MD, Dean Attwell, stated: “As an experienced multi temperature supply chain specialist, we are well placed to provide advice on the many complex factors involved when working with UK retailers and wholesalers.”
Market globalisation and economic climate conditions continue to focus industry’s attention on supply chain efficiencies.
Dean Attwell added: “We have a successful model which is proving extremely effective at explaining and then opening new export opportunities for Irish businesses.”
Amongst the attendees, Godfrey Lydon from the Irish Exporters Association, who commented: “I thought the speakers were very informative and interesting and everything was very well organised.”
