Top office products supplier Staples Poland is delighted with the products and service it is receiving from leading packaging manufacturer FP International.
FP International has supplied Staples Poland with its market-leading CELL-O EZ air cushions and CELL-O EZ machines to protect office products packed into cardboard boxes on their way to customers. The air cushions are versatile and can be perfectly adjusted to the various shapes of products supplied by Staples.
Staples Poland chose FP International’s CELL-O EZ to replace the use of loose fill in order to increase productivity. Producing the air cushions on-demand saves valuable time, cuts storage requirements and reduces handling compared with bubble film material or loose fill. As the packer is preparing the carton, the air cushions are blown up by the machine; these can then be directly inserted into the carton.
Because the air cushions are mostly made from air, they can easily be disposed of by puncturing them, thus reducing the volume to only 2% of their original level.
Damian Leszczynski, Warehouse Manager at Gdansk-based Staples Poland, explained: “FP offered the best solution for our packaging needs and designed a tailor-made application for our warehouse.”
This application included the small footprint, space saving Automatic Delivery System (ADS) which transports air cushions from the machine to the packing table.
This modular solution is exceptionally cost-effective and enables packaging material on demand, which:
• Eliminates the need to transport the cushions manually.
• Enables the air cushions to be pre-cut at the desired length.
• Allows the extension of existing systems.
Each ADS is custom-made and can therefore be integrated into almost any existing packaging environment.

Staples Poland, which employs 78 people, began operations in 1995. It supplies a wide range of office products including stationery supplies, technology, furniture, and business services.
