George Utz, the leading manufacturer of plastic containers, pallets and dollies, has strengthened its presence in Ireland with the appointment of a new Key Account Manager, Brian Merriman.

Brian, who originally trained as an engineer, brings with him significant expertise and skills which will be invaluable to George Utz’s Irish customer base. He has some 18 years’ experience as a technical consultant, previously working for 3m/Static Control Components. He has worked on many new capital equipment projects throughout Europe, including high profile assignments for companies such as IBM, Intel and Hewlett Packard.

George Utz has seen a considerable rise in new projects in Ireland over recent months, in particular for large retailers and automotive manufacturers. In order to meet customer demand, the company has made the decision to bring Brian on board to ensure the best possible service standards and offer expert advice to its growing customer base.

George Utz has always offered an enormous range of standard containers and trays suitable for use in automated systems. However, it is also fast becoming the market leader in custom-designed solutions through its deep understanding of how containers and trays need to perform in automation systems, its many technical innovations and its ability to add real value to solutions.

Brian joins an expert team dedicated to providing customer specific solutions.  Whether it be customising a standard container and adding extra features to complement its functionality, or creating a brand new design specifically to fit with a new system, they provide specialist technical advice about the most appropriate solution to suit. They work closely with their customers and systems integrators to create, develop and test the best solutions for complex and often multifaceted materials handling operations.
