Warehousing & shipping solutions experts ILG, has acquired another Sussex based shipping solutions company, Express 2000. The two companies, both of which have been successfully operating out of the West Sussex area for 20 years, are two of the largest independent courier companies in the South East.

The acquisition is seen as a positive step by both organisations as they have differing areas of expertise that can now be utilised to benefit clients, suppliers and staff alike. ILG will now be parent company to Express 2000 (known as E2K) who will continue trading under the Express 2000 / E2K name. The E2K facility in Copthorne will be relocated to ILG’s new, larger facilities at Gatwick in the coming months.

The integration of the two companies will be seamless with no interruptions, quite simply it’s business as usual as Grant Ashley, Managing Director of ILG explains, “We are delighted to have completed this acquisition. Both ILG and E2K are businesses with similar cultures; we are both very client-focused and pride ourselves on our high service levels.  In fact this has meant that over the years, we have been aware of each other, and it is exciting to now be colleagues. This Acquisition will result in all clients benefiting from a broader range of services from companies they trust and like working with. It’s a perfect match; through ILG Assured, we have proven expertise in advanced warehouse operations, mailing services and state-of-the-art fulfilment operations, whilst together, ILG Direct and E2K are the very best independent providers of global delivery solutions in the UK with impressive strengths in International Courier, Air, Road and Ocean Freight.”

Ian Saunders, Managing Director of E2K is also looking forward to the future: “This is great news for us and is a very positive step forward for the development of the company. We have worked hard to develop our services to our clients, and with the added backing of ILG, we will now be able to draw on increased resources and facilities to improve our offering even further. It’s a good strategic fit for the two businesses and I see a great future ahead.”
