HFT Forklifts Limited, a leading provider of materials handling solutions, has kick started the new year by restructuring its senior management team.

The Herefordshire-based business has appointed Carole Crawford as its new managing director. Formerly responsible for day-to-day operations within the family-run company, Carole replaces her husband, Peter Crawford, who has become HFT’s chairman.

As one of just a handful of female MDs in what is a predominantly male sector, Carole is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“HFT is a dynamic business with a reputation for providing outstanding service and customer support,” said Carole.

“My aim is to help the business grow by strengthening links with existing customers and ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the high standards expected from us.”

Operating throughout the UK and with a customer portfolio that includes household names such as Glaxo SmithKline UK, Kingspan Insulation and Tyrrells Potato Crisps, HFT offers customers tailor-made materials handling solutions.

As part of the restructure, the company has also strengthened its senior management team with second-generation family members Zoe Ferriday and Jamie Crawford being promoted to human resources director and commercial director respectively. Both bring huge enthusiasm and expertise to the organisation and they are joined on the management team by Mark Robinson, John Birch, Andy Ferriday and Anna Robertson.

“Having recently celebrated our 25th anniversary, we wanted a management team capable of leading the company successfully through the next 25 years,” said Carole. “I’m confident we’ve achieved our aim and I’m looking forward to watching them drive the business forward.”
