The Fork Lift Truck Association has pulled off a major coup by enlisting the support of Sally Boazman – better known to her many listeners on Radio 2 as “Sally Traffic” – to present the Archies at its Annual Awards for Excellence 2011.

As the country’s premiere traffic and travel reporter, Sally Boazman has worked alongside the likes of Steve Wright, Johnnie Walker, Ken Bruce, Jeremy Vine and Chris Evans, and has been credited as the woman who changed the face of traffic news. Millions now tune into her informative and witty bulletins, and it is said that – thanks to her loyal trucker fan-base – her information is so up-to-date that the Highways Agency uses her reports to update their own.

Announcing the news of her recruitment, Martyn Fletcher, Chairman of the FLTA said: “Sally is the perfect choice for this event. Regulars among her 8 million listeners will recall that, on the eve of Awards 2010 in February, Sally and Simon Mayo previewed the event… and then went on to announce the winners on the Monday edition of the show in what was described by Simon Mayo as “a world exclusive”. At that time Sally let slip that she would like to be invited to our Awards… and now we have made it happen.”

Sally will feature prominently in the FLTA Annual Awards for Excellence which will be held on Saturday 12th February 2011 at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham hotel.

Sally is a popular guest at the Truckfest events which are held throughout the country each year, meeting in person the truckers who listen to her everyday. She was thrilled to be given an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ on behalf of all the UK truckers for her traffic news on BBC Radio 2. Sally can be heard every weekday from lunch time until 7pm.
