felixstoweFelixstowe Warehousing achieves British Retail Consortium Storage & Distribution Accreditation.

Felixstowe Warehousing, a 207,000 ft2 storage and handling facility, has received the British Retail Consortium (BRC) standard for Storage and Distribution of ambient foods. BRC accreditation demonstrates the company’s competence in maintaining product safety and integrity through the supply chain. Felixstowe Warehousing is the only provider in Felixstowe to be awarded this standard.

Based in Felixstowe, the UK’s largest container port, Felixstowe Warehousing offers complete international freight handling solutions.  From container unloading and cargo handling, through secure storage and pick and pack to distribution, Felixstowe Warehousing’s location makes it ideal for fast transfer of goods from quay to rack. This reduces lead times and eliminates quay rent and demurrage costs.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the BRC standard,” said Stuart Gosling, Director of Felixstowe Warehousing. “We are dedicated to best practice in the storage and distribution of goods, and now we have certification to confirm our commitment. This, along with an ongoing investment in the latest product tracking technology and handling equipment, means that our customers can be confident that their goods are stored and distributed with great care and accuracy.”

BRC accreditation covers product inspection and sorting, contract packing and quality control inspection. It ensures that the organisation adheres to the highest standards in hazard and risk analysis, vehicle operation, product traceability and site environment standards including cleaning and pest control, product handling and staff hygiene.

Felixstowe Warehousing, a member of UKWA, has full CFSP (Customs Freight Simplified Procedures) status, which allows accelerated removal and release of most third country imports.
