Of the 300 exhibitors that will participate in IMHX 2010 at the NEC from 16 to 19 November, almost 10% will be members of the Automated Material Handling Systems Association.
Recognising the increasing importance of automated logistics systems in the modern supply chain, the organisers of IMHX have created a special AMHSA pavilion for the first time in the show’s history. With the event being co-owned by the British Industrial Truck Association, IMHX has always had a large core of support from the manual handling sector, but in recent years the exhibition has attracted increasing numbers of automated handling exhibitors, as well as software providers and consultancy firms.
The AMHSA pavilion will feature a large number of the trade association’s members in stands arranged around a central hospitality area. Explains IMHX Director, Rob Fisher, “We’re delighted to have created this special zone for AMHSA and its members. It highlights the fact that IMHX is very well supported by the UK’s automated handling sector, as well as underlining the comprehensive nature of the exhibits at the show.” Adds Graham Watts, AMHSA Secretary, “By concentrating the presence of automation providers in one zone at the show, the AMHSA pavilion will provide a highly visible platform from which to promote automated logistics within the UK’s premier materials handling event.”
Growing membership
AMHSA, which has been the voice of the UK automated materials handling industry for the past 24 years, has been growing rapidly recently and now represents 48 of the sector’s leading companies, which between them supply over 80% of the automated handling equipment purchased in the UK. The association is dedicated to promoting excellence in handling automation in terms of solutions, after sales support, reliability and safety.
