The Cranleigh Show 2010 is to be held on Sunday 1st August at The Showground, Bookhurst Road, Cranleigh, Surrey, and is one of the oldest one day agricultural shows held in the UK. CFS are also heavily involved in the first Cranleigh Music Festival to be held on 3 and 4 September.
Colin Young, Chairman and founder of Cranleigh Freight Services, based in Cranleigh, Surrey, honoured in the 2003 Queen’s New Year’s Honours List with an MBE for services to young people and the community in Cranleigh, Surrey, has long supported the events in Cranleigh. He is presently President of the Cranleigh Show (Cranleigh & South Eastern Agricultural Society) and Chairman of Local Youth Matters Ltd., a new registered charity, aims to raise a massive £50,000 to benefit local youth groups struggling to get worthwhile projects off the ground by helping improve facilities, equipment and programmes with the first Cranleigh Music Festival. The aim is to help discourage the abuse of illegal substances, excessive drinking and bullying, while also helping disabled and disadvantaged groups within the local community surrounding Cranleigh for those between the ages of ten and 21. Again CFS and DHD are heavily involved in sponsoring this event.
