City Swift, offering one of the most extensive courier and logistics operations from central London, has chosen ACI (Advanced Courier Interface), NX Transport and NX Fleet Tracking solutions, all from DA Systems. These solutions will be used to manage its growing sameday, overnight and international delivery operations. Through the modernisation of its IT systems, City Swift is anticipating a major improvement in the efficiency of its operations coupled with the delivery of even better customer service.
DA Systems’ ACI replaces City Swift’s outmoded booking system and will provide real-time scheduling and fleet management, which will allow City Swift’s controllers to schedule, track, log and report on all of the activities, collections and deliveries of its fleet of vehicles, based from its central London depot.
ACI offers mapping and routing, despatch and control functionality, combined with comprehensive reporting and management information analysis. This wide range of functions is a key factor in ensuring that City Swift can offer a broad range of services and efficiently utilise its resources, culminating in enhanced customer satisfaction.
Through the online capabilities of ACI Net, City Swift’s customers will also able to make web bookings and track their own jobs. This greatly enhances the controllers’ efficiency, practically eliminating the need for telephone calls or the wasteful use of paper.
Integrating closely with ACI, NX Transport is a highly advanced real-time POD capture and job allocation mobile data solution which links the fleet drivers’ handheld XDAs electronically to City Swift’s controllers. Through mobile data communications and data capture, NX Transport provides City Swift’s drivers with everything they need to progress the job status – including ‘sign-on-screen’ POD confirmation.
NX Fleet Tracking provides City Swift with total visibility and control of its fleet through live GPS vehicle tracking and fleet management. NX Fleet Tracking provides an at-a-glance overview of vehicles to instantly see where they are, what type of vehicle, speed, direction and whether or not they are busy.
Geo-fencing also enables City Swift’s controllers to mark and clearly show important work areas. The ‘follow-a-driver’ function, shows the progress of any driver via a picture-in-picture view of the map. Two-way interactive messaging enables users to click on a vehicle and send a message to a driver. NX Fleet Tracking comprises an extensive set of reporting tools including snail trail history, audit reporting and video replay.
