The Rhenus Group and COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a strategic partnership at Rhenus Cuxport in Cuxhaven, Germany. The agreement aims to combine Rhenus’ port expertise with COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd’s shipping expertise, drawing on its fleet of over 200 specialised vessels, to enhance supply chain solutions and strengthen digital integration between port and shipping operations. Both companies will provide seamless transport services for shared customers and develop integrated logistics solutions across the Cuxhaven terminal covering breakbulk, automobiles, heavy lift and special cargo, including semi-submersible shipments and end-to-end distribution.

Within the partnership, Rhenus will contribute its terminals, warehouses, inbound and outbound rail connections, shuttle barge feeder routes, and transportation fleets in Cuxhaven. With its integrated infrastructure, national and international connections, and its role as a major multipurpose and project logistics hub in Germany, the location offers suitable conditions.
Furthermore, the close cooperation between Rhenus and COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd allows Rhenus Project Logistics to offer new integrated logistics solutions that address increasingly complex customer requirements along the North Range across Europe.

Based on market needs and operational feasibility, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd, drawing on its long-standing expertise in transporting specialised vessels and providing related services, will continue to build and further expand its European logistics network on the foundation of the Rhenus Group’s existing infrastructure. The company will contribute to expanding and diversifying the existing route and capacity offering at the Cuxhaven location.
