Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres Limited, Europe’s largest independent producer of commercial and industrial retreaded tyres, has renewed its national distribution contract with leading specialist delivery business Nightfreight and further extended its scope to include work previously handled in-house.
As part of the new deal Nightfreight has renewed its dedicated 12-strong Vacu-Lug trailer fleet, all of which are fitted with Vacu-Lug Duramold WRE2 super-single tyres. Nightfreight has also taken responsibility for the operation of two specialist crane-equipped vehicles, which offer a nationwide tyre delivery and collection service for operators of earth movers and off-road vehicles.
Commenting on the contract-award to Nightfreight, Tim Hercock, Managing Director for Vacu-Lug, said, “Transport, logistics and waste management operators nationwide place their trust in our tyres and our commitment to providing a responsive collection and delivery service is something we take very seriously. Our choice of logistics partner is a key part of this offering and we consequently demand high levels of service. Over the past eight years Nightfreight has continued to not only meet but exceed our expectations and we are therefore delighted to renew and expand this contract.”
Under the renewed contract, Nightfreight will continue to collect new retread tyres from Vacu-Lug in Grantham and transport them to its regional hubs for onward distribution to Vacu-Lug’s nationwide network of service providers. Nightfreight will also be responsible for collecting used tyres from the service providers and returning them to Vacu-Lug for recycling.
