john_bywaterSituated in a very exposed area on the coastal town of Dover, battling the elements at work was par for the course for busy logistics company Bywater Transport. With thousands of pallets to deliver, however, unloading and loading in the punishing rain and wind meant wet goods and unhappy staff.

Over thirty employees manage between 50-60 deliveries and the same number of pick ups in a 24 hour period. Vehicles were unloading outside the warehouse. With limited space down one side of the building and inside, goods and personnel were getting wet on rainy days.

Having seen one of its canopies at a local firm, owner John Bywater contacted CopriSystems and explained the problem. With a few weeks, CopriSystems had designed a canopy building specific to requirements. In just a few days, a 21m long, 18m wide canopy was installed against the existing warehouse.

Side wall mounted with a monopitch roof, the canopy is open at both ends to provide a tunnel effect building. Vehicles drive into the canopy for unloading and through the other end. Free flow of traffic is ensured, and the entire loading process protected. Groundworks were not required as there was already an existing concrete base.

“From order to installation, the job has been smooth and efficient.  I would recommend CopriSystems to anyone. The canopy protects our whole operation and has helped improve logistics enormously.” John Bywater.

Manufactured from galvanised steel frames and with a pvc coated polyester fabric cover, all CopriSystems canopies are wind and snow load tested to British Standard BS 6399 and are available in heights of 4.3m and 5m, various standard widths and unlimited length.
