distribution.jpgFollowing the successful implementation of the full service cleaning contract at the Tesco Distribution Centre at Didcot, Oxfordshire, NIC Services Group have been awarded a further three chill depots for Tesco. These are in Middleton, Harlow and Southampton and all started in summer 2008. In addition to the chill depots NIC were also awarded their first dry goods depot earlier this year at Middlewich which also includes their trunking station.

NIC provide a full service cleaning contract for both chill and dry depots including the service of amenity blocks, offices, warehouse, baling, waste management and the outside perimeter of all depots. In order to successfully implement these full service contracts a number of Tesco employees were transferred over to NIC.

Vince Treadgold Tesco Distribution said: “Further to NIC’s success with the Tesco Didcot contract, we have now awarded NIC 4 more depots. These contracts have required a major investment in specialist machinery by NIC. We are delighted with the mobilisation plan that was implemented by them and were extremely impressed with how smoothly the Tesco employees were integrated into the NIC team. We have seen an improvement in cleaning standards in all the depots since NIC took over the contracts.”

Tony Phelps NIC Sales & Marketing Director said: “We are really pleased to be further developing our business with Tesco. This type of full service contract requires a very specialist approach with innovative systems and procedures which NIC have been able to successfully implement.”
