Located in Swadlincote, the 55,000sq ft facility comprises a dedicated 18,000sq ft packaging wash area, office accommodation and 35,000sq ft of food standard warehousing space. “We have an ambitious growth agenda and our new site will play a key role in our business development plans,” said Stephen Taylor, managing director of PLS.

“We specialise in providing bespoke packaging rental and management services to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries and we are the only supplier to offer fully integrated solutions including outbound product logistics, packaging equipment and added value services such as asset management, repair, sorting and washing.

“Additionally, we can offer our customers access to our sister company, national logistics specialist, TM Logistics, giving us an unrivalled edge over our competitors.

“The new depot will enable us to expand our business and we’re looking forward to a bright future.”

Supporting companies such as Rexam Beverage Can and Esterform PET, PLS supplies and manages a wide range of equipment such as plastic pallets and drop boxes on either a rental or purchase basis.

The company also utilises internet based tracking and management systems to ensure that customers maximise their return on investment.
PLS was recently awarded ISO 9001 for its washing operations and all other associated services. It is also well on track to acquiring the coveted environmental standard ISO14001.
