norish.jpgUnion Industries has helped Norish Limited improve its operations by installing three Eiger freezer doors at the company’s Wrexham facility. The doors have brought huge benefits to Norish in terms of energy savings, freezer efficiency and low maintenance costs. Norish Limited is a third party multi-temperature warehousing and logistics business providing services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors. The 2.4m sq Eiger doors supplied by Union Industries were installed between the loading bay and the freezer, replacing the existing bi-parting sliding insulated doors. They are activated by pull switches to both sides of each opening, with a pull cord to open and automatic closing operation.

Stuart Lloyd, Group Engineer for Norish, said: “The new doors have made a huge difference in terms of energy savings and reduced maintenance. We have many door openings on this site and the speed that the Eiger doors open and close means we can save energy and reduce our overall operating costs.”

“The old doors needed constant repair and maintenance and our site engineer had to spend much of his time working on them. The Eiger doors are very low maintenance and with the bottom beam ‘Crash-Out and Auto-Reset’ facility, which is a first for freezer doors as far as I know, it’s fantastic. Due to impact damage, we used to get a lot of air leakage around the doors and this resulted in ice build up around the openings and on the floors. But now, with the new Eiger Doors, there is no ice at all.”

Neil Irwin, Union Industries Technical Sales Engineer, said: “Good quality companies such as Norish understand the importance of having technologically advanced equipment that will contribute to the smooth running of its facilities”.

“Eiger Doors not only reduce energy consumption and running costs, but have a low ‘through life’ cost from which our customers will benefit for many years.”
