ArcoArco’s recently launched Three-Step Industrial Skincare System has beaten hundreds of entries to be nominated for a Tomorrow’s Cleaning Product Award for 2013.

Picked as one of the best new products from a prestigious list of branded products, the Arco own label range can help workers manage the risk of occupational dermatitis that accounts for 3% of all sickness absence certified to occupational illnesses in the UK. Some of the most common causes of occupational dermatitis include working in wet or humid environments, chemicals, oils, greases and bleaches, continuous washing and the wearing of liquid proof gloves that prevent the skin from breathing. The new Arco Three-Step Industrial Skincare System can help to defend the skin from many occupational skin disorders.

Jeff Snee, Arco’s Product and Procurement Manager Hygiene and Cleaning, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our new skincare range has been selected for this Award.  Occupational dermatitis is one of the most prevalent industrial diseases, with the Health & Safety Executive estimating that there are 40,000 new dermatitis cases each year – the majority of these caused or made worse by work. Through the development of the Arco Three-Step Industrial Skincare System ourselves, we are confident that we can provide effective protection against this debilitating disease.”

Each of the three steps in the system plays a vital role in hand protection. The Pre-Work Cream protects the skin from contaminants, including chemicals, oils and greases, and also eases the cleansing process. The Pre-Work Cream is an ideal way of giving your hands a barrier of protection especially when wearing gloves may not be practical. The secondary stage is a gentle hand cleanser that works with the Pre-Work Cream to effectively remove contaminants that are present on the hands. The cleanser is available in three strengths, light, heavy duty and ultra, enabling the user to thoroughly cleanse their hands using the gentlest formula for removal of the particular contaminant. The third step is the After Work Cream which restores skin that has been weakened by environmental and mechanical factors. The cream works by replacing moisture and lipids, supplementing the skin’s natural healing process.

Each of the products in the Arco Three-Step Industrial Skincare System form part of the assessment needs for COSHH. The skincare range is also suitable for 85% of industrial cases, from mechanics working with heavy machinery to hairdressers working with hair dyes and chemicals.
