“I’m Gary Austin, Managing Director of QRO Solutions, leading our vision, strategy, and innovation while building strong client relationships and delivering technology-driven solutions,” he says. His motivation is equally clear: “I’m driven by building a business that solves real challenges.”
This mindset has shaped a culture rooted in innovation and collaboration. “My leadership encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring QRO Solutions delivers tailored, practical solutions that address complex client challenges,” Gary explains.
QRO Solutions specialises in advanced Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and intelligent monitoring technologies, supporting security, logistics, and compliance. “We combine engineering expertise and innovation to deliver solutions that solve real-world operational challenges,” he notes. This combination enables organisations to improve efficiency, strengthen security, and make better-informed decisions.
The impact is particularly evident in logistics, where real-time insight is critical. “Our ANPR and intelligent monitoring systems provide real-time vehicle insight, enabling efficient logistics management, HGV compliance monitoring, and improved routing,” Gary says. The result is greater control, accountability, and operational performance across increasingly complex supply chains.
One of the strongest examples of this approach is QRO’s recent project with SEGRO at Northampton Gateway. Tasked with addressing HGV routing compliance, QRO implemented an ANPR-based monitoring system capable of delivering accurate vehicle identification and real-time data. “Our solution provided DVLA classification and real-time data to verify approved routes,” Gary explains.
The results have been significant. “Success has been driven by accurate monitoring, transparent data, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to identify HGV movements,” he says. Importantly, the benefits extend beyond site operations. “Data and real-time insight are vital… reducing village traffic and creating safer, quieter communities for local residents.”
For QRO, the project highlights the evolving role of ANPR technology. “This demonstrates our ability to expand ANPR expertise beyond policing, delivering innovative logistics solutions that benefit clients and communities,” Gary adds.
Looking ahead, growth is firmly on the agenda. “Key growth areas include expanding ANPR and intelligent monitoring into logistics, infrastructure, and overseas markets,” he says. At the same time, the business is investing in future technologies that will shape the sector. “ANPR and AI technologies will transform logistics through smarter automation, predictive insights, and more efficient, sustainable vehicle management.”
QRO is already developing next-generation capabilities to support this shift. “We are developing faster, cost-effective ANPR processors and enhanced camera management software,” Gary reveals.
Ultimately, the company’s ambition is clear: to lead through innovation while delivering measurable value. “By delivering intelligent data insights, QRO Solutions helps clients optimise operations, maintain compliance, and support sustainability goals,” he says.
