The Cold Chain Climate & Energy Summit returns to the University of Warwick in 2026, building on the success of previous years and expanding its scope to reflect the industry’s evolving challenges and opportunities. This year’s event broadens its focus to include the critical topic of energy, recognising its vital role in achieving net zero ambitions, improving resilience, and driving innovation across the temperature-controlled supply chain. Bringing together leaders from logistics, storage, manufacturing, retail, policy, and academia, the summit will provide a platform for knowledge sharing, debate, and collaboration around the most pressing sustainability and energy issues facing our industry, the Cold Chain Federation reveals.

Freezer warehouses, chilled loading bays, and temperature-controlled logistics hubs are among the most energy-intensive environments in the supply chain. One of the biggest sources of avoidable energy loss are doors, as every second they stay open, cold air escapes and warm air rushes in, placing extra strain on your cooling systems and driving up your energy bills. The Klimate K2 Freezer Door from BID Group operates at speeds of up to 1.5 metres per second, a rapid action which means the door can fully open and close in a matter of seconds, keeping internal temperatures stable while maintaining a steady flow of people, products, and vehicles.Thermo King®, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, has announced the expansion of its TracKing connectivity platform with new digital capabilities. The new Ask TracKing and ColdChain Link enhancements empower operators and their end-customers by simplifying access to operational insights, streamlining fleet management tasks, and strengthening transparency across refrigerated transport. Available across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), these advanced TracKing features help users better oversee temperature-sensitive and high-value goods in transit, supporting improved efficiency and product integrity.
Following a major expansion, NewCold’s Kutno site in Poland now offers over 112,000 pallet positions, combining scale with high levels of automation, performance and flexibility. Beyond traditional cold storage, Kutno delivers value added services such as case picking, repacking, co-packing and large-scale order consolidation. As a central hub for one of Poland’s largest retail networks, the site enables short lead times, retail-ready distribution and reliable handling of complex, high-volume flows, both nationally and across borders.
Six Carrier Transicold Supra® High Efficiency (HE) 8 units are now powering UK Wholesale Supplier Henry Colbeck, supporting the company’s ongoing transition to a Carrier-Transicold exclusive fleet. The Supra HE was selected for its powerful refrigeration capacity and lower fuel consumption, which helps ensure maximum operational efficiency. The new Supra HE 8 systems are fitted to 18-tonne MAN TGM trucks mounted with custom Gray & Adams bodies that feature separate access points for individual storage sections.
As the cold chain continues to grow in size and importance, it is crucial that it makes every effort to achieve its net zero ambitions.
