Stertil Dock Products UK has announced a new partnership with Beyond Procurement, specialists in carbon footprint and cost reduction strategies, to launch a company-wide sustainability programme aimed at reducing its environmental impact and supporting key customers in meeting carbon reduction targets.

This initiative marks the start of a structured plan to measure, manage, and reduce Stertil’s carbon footprint – both across its operations and within its wider supply chain.

A proactive response to customer requirements

The move comes as the construction and logistics industries continue to make a conscious shift towards a lower-carbon, more sustainable built environment. The drive toward net zero is now central to how new projects are planned, built, and operated – creating opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

At the same time, major construction projects are increasingly being held to strict sustainability standards and can face financial penalties if carbon emissions exceed set limits. This has created further incentives for every stakeholder in the supply chain to better understand and reduce their environmental impact.

Rather than viewing these changes as a challenge, Stertil sees them as an opportunity to drive positive action.

“This partnership represents a major step forward for Stertil and our customers,” said Andrew Georgiou, General Manager at Stertil Dock Products UK. “By working with Beyond Procurement, we can accurately measure and actively reduce our carbon footprint – not just internally, but across every link in our supply chain.

Stertil’s sustainability project will focus on three main areas, running side by side to deliver measurable change:

Carbon footprint assessment: Identifying and quantifying greenhouse gas emissions across Stertil UK. Understanding this will help the company target its biggest opportunities for reduction.

Supplier engagement: Working with Stertil’s suppliers to implement sustainable practices and reduce their environmental impact. Beyond Procurement’s Sustainability Hub will support suppliers on their journey, providing resources and guidance to help them lower emissions.

Carbon calculator: Mapping internal systems to develop a new carbon calculator that allows Stertil to determine the footprint of specific customer projects, helping customers achieve transparency and meet their own sustainability goals.

“What makes this partnership exciting is Stertil’s commitment to embedding sustainability into every project,” said Beyond Procurement’s Andrew Childers. “Our role is to help them measure accurately, act strategically, and continuously improve – reducing carbon emissions and costs at the same time.”
