The West Midlands based materials handling equipment and service provider has over 12 years experience in delivering driver training programmes for UK industry.

The courses last from one to five days and can be completed on site or at one of Briggs’ training centres. The structure includes practical and theory tests, a thorough explanation of current legislation with a focus on workforce health and safety legislation and the operator’s safety code.

As Ken Stoll, EH&S Advisor for Briggs Equipment commented: “There is a statutory duty for employers to provide instruction and training on all matters of health and safety at work, including driver training.”

Briggs Equipment offers training on a diverse range of equipment including; Counterbalance forklifts, power pallets, rough terrain and telescopic units, mobile elevated work platforms and specialist plants.

“We’ve seen a significant rise in people attending our driver training courses over the past few months,” said Ken Stoll. “The need for companies to become compliant with Health and Safety legislation is ever more important, but we’ve also seen a rise in people wanting to re-train and up their key skills especially in light of the current economic and social climate.”

Qualification on the Briggs Equipment’s driver training courses comes with the industry leading RTITB (formerly The Road Transport Industry Training Board) certification and also NORS the National Operator Registration Scheme, which is the centralised validation, registration and certification scheme for all RTITB accredited training.
