Coach House, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of home interiors and giftware, has become the first business to install a Karocycler machine through Wessex Packaging, the official UK distributor for Karocycler. Based near Accrington in Lancashire, Coach House has invested in the innovative recycling solution as part of its ongoing commitment to improving sustainability across its warehousing and fulfilment operations. The Karocycler installation enables the company to recycle and reuse its own waste cardboard and paper directly within its own location.
Previously, the business disposed of approximately 60 tonnes of waste cardboard each year while also relying on plastic air-filled pillows to protect products during transit. With the introduction of the Karocycler system, that waste material can now be converted into high-quality, protective packaging.
The new installation demonstrates how businesses can adopt practical circular economy solutions that reduce waste, lower environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.
By transforming waste cardboard and paper into cushioning and void-fill packaging materials on-site, Coach House can significantly reduce its dependence on single-use plastic packaging while making better use of resources already available within its operation.
