Stertil UK has appointed Jon Wickett as General Manager of Stertil Dock Products, bringing almost 30 years of experience across materials handling, logistics and warehouse operations to the business.

Jon joins Stertil from Crown Lift Trucks, where he held the role of Head of National Accounts. During his time there, he led and developed a high-performing sales team while helping to significantly grow national account revenues through new business development and strategic customer partnerships.

Prior to this, Jon held senior commercial roles with Essensium and UniCarriers, building extensive experience in warehouse operations, safety and productivity systems and customer-focused sales leadership. In his new role, Jon will lead the experienced Stertil Dock Products team, supporting customers with loading bay and industrial door projects across a wide range of sectors.

Commenting on his appointment, Jon Wickett said: “What attracted me to Stertil was the opportunity to join a business with an outstanding reputation for quality, strong technical expertise and a clear long-term focus on customers and partnerships.

Stertil Dock Products has completed the supply and installation of six Thermadoor industrial sectional doors, along with an insulated roller shutter door, at a new warehouse development at South Humber Bank Power Station in Lincolnshire, operated by EP UK Investments.

Working alongside main contractor Allied Protek Engineering Solutions, the project included the installation of sectional doors for large openings measuring 6580mm wide by 7500mm high. Due to their size, which exceeds standard dimensions, the doors were engineered with a double spring console arrangement to safely manage the increased weight and ensure smooth, reliable operation.

Each door is manufactured using double-skinned galvanised steel panels bonded to high-density 40mm insulated panels, delivering excellent structural strength and thermal performance.

Stertil sectional doors are fully compliant with EN 13241-1, CE marked, and wind load tested to EN 12424. They are also accredited by Secured by Design (SBD), the official police-backed initiative focused on crime prevention, helping to enhance security across industrial and logistics facilities.

To suit the specific requirements of the building, each door was manufactured to bespoke dimensions, with track configurations tailored to the structure. The external face of the sectional doors was factory finished in a RAL colour selected to complement the overall building design.

“After nearly 30 years working across materials handling, logistics and warehouse operations, I still enjoy the challenge of understanding operations, solving problems and building relationships that last. I’m looking forward to getting started, meeting customers and supporting the next phase of growth.”

Martin Paynter, Managing Director of Stertil UK, added: “Jon brings a wealth of commercial and operational experience, along with a strong understanding of warehouse and logistics environments. His leadership approach, customer focus and industry knowledge make him an excellent fit for Stertil Dock Products as we continue to invest in our people, products and customer services.”
