At SPS Italia, the leading event for smart, digital, and sustainable industry, Bonfiglioli presented its full mechatronics ecosystem, integrating gearmotors, inverters, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and advanced automation software tools. The spotlight was on the Axia drive family, followed by dedicated solutions for shuttles, AGVs and AMRs, the Bonfiglioli Automation Manager portfolio, and a range of mechatronic systems for roller conveyors, palletisers, flowpack systems, compact warehouse elevators and material handling applications.

Officially presented in Italy at SPS, was the new Axia drive family, i.e. AxiaVert and AxiaAgile. The former is tailored for high-performance and complex systems, featuring a modular design, comprehensive functional safety options and advanced motion control capabilities. The latter offers a compact and cost-efficient alternative for general-purpose uses. Built on a variant-based concept, AxiaAgile is engineered to address diverse application requirements, providing dedicated configurations that streamline product selection and significantly reduce engineering time.
In the field of mobile robotics, Bonfiglioli showcased two customised versions of the BlueRoll platform, a solution specifically developed for shuttles, AGVs and AMRs.
At SPS Italia, a dedicated area was focused on the logistics/ intralogistics sector, featuring a selection of mechatronic systems. For palletisers, flowpack packaging processes and compact warehouse elevators, the flagship product was the synchronous servomotor of the BMD Series.
As part of the Bonfiglioli Group, Selcom showcased its custom electronic solutions, with a broad portfolio of high-performance mechatronic and system integration technologies. Each solution highlights the company’s strong focus on advanced standards and tailor-made engineering.
Bonfiglioli tackles major challenges in industrial machinery, such as downtime and high maintenance costs, by providing the IIoT platform which includes Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance. The IoT platform presented at SPS utilizes dedicated sensors to monitor gearboxes and motors, collecting vital performance and energy data.
A special focus was given to Bonfiglioli’s Automation Manager, a comprehensive software suite that brings together all digital tools into a single ecosystem, ensuring full integration across the entire product portfolio and along every phase of the machine lifecycle.
The Software Tools, on the other hand, are designed to support product selection and optimisation. These include Smart Sizer, which helps customers identify the most suitable components based on application parameters such as load, speed and duty cycle, and e-shop which streamlines the customer journey with simplified product selection and online ordering across the full range. Smart Sizer also integrates the Efficiency Tool, which compares the energy performance of different motor-drive combinations by analysing consumption, losses and efficiency.
