North West materials handling specialist Powerlift has opened a major new depot as part of its continued growth, creating increased capacity to support businesses across the region with forklifts, warehouse equipment, servicing and operator training.

The family-run business will officially showcase the new site at an Open Day on Friday 10th July, inviting local companies to visit the facility, meet the team and explore how Powerlift can help improve warehouse efficiency, fleet reliability and day-to-day operations.
The new depot represents a significant investment in the business and has been designed to strengthen customer support with more engineers on the road, a larger parts department, increased racking and storage capacity, faster response times and all departments now operating under one roof.
Powerlift works with businesses of all sizes across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, retail and distribution, supplying materials handling solutions tailored to each customer’s needs.
Managing Director Steve Routledge said: “We’ve worked incredibly hard to bring the business under one roof after starting from humble beginnings in Runcorn. Our new depot in Skelmersdale is especially meaningful for us, as it’s close to where both mine and Emma’s forklift careers began so in many ways, it feels like coming home.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming customers, suppliers and local businesses to our Open Day. There’ll be food, refreshments and an auction on the day, and we’re hoping it will be a relaxed and enjoyable way for people to see the new depot and meet the team.
“It gives us the space, stock and infrastructure to respond faster, support more businesses and continue growing without losing the personal service we’re known for.”
The Open Day is aimed at businesses that use, or may benefit from, materials handling equipment such as forklifts, warehouse trucks, racking and training services.
Visitors will be able to tour the depot, meet the Powerlift team, discuss operational challenges and see a range of equipment and solutions first-hand.
Operations Director Emma Routledge added: “We want the day to be welcoming, useful and worthwhile for local businesses. Whether you run one truck or a full fleet, there’s always value in seeing what’s available and talking through ways to improve efficiency.”
