Britvic, a leading British producer of soft drinks, has extended its contract with Wincanton, a leading supply chain partner for UK businesses, for 10 years in a deal that will take the partnership with the two businesses into its 40th year.

The 30-year partnership between the two organisations began in 1994 and, under the new contract extension Wincanton will continue to provide storage and distribution services for Britvic, which is home to brands including Robinsons, J2O and Tango, in the UK.

Over the next decade Britvic will benefit from Wincanton making a significant investment in automation to increase productivity, capacity, and capability at Britvic’s national distribution centre in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

The extended contract will also see Wincanton continue to manage Britvic’s fully automated warehouse facility in Rugby, Warwickshire. Together, the two sites despatch a combined 650,000 cases of Britvic products daily. The extension of this long-standing and successful relationship is testament to Wincanton’s proven site management capability, colleague expertise and consistent operational excellence at Britvic’s key sites.

James Hurrell, Managing Director of Grocery and Consumer at Wincanton, commented: “Extending our long-standing relationship with Britvic into its fourth decade is a proud milestone for Wincanton as we see our partnership with one of the UK’s most popular beverage manufacturers go from strength-to-strength. We are looking forward to investing in a resilient and innovative platform for growth for Britvic in the UK, underpinned by our shared values around people, planet and performance.”
