Wessex Packaging has been awarded an EcoVadis Silver Medal in recognition of their on-going commitment to sustainability and the environment throughout the business.
This award builds upon Wessex’s Bronze assessment in 2023 and places the Somerset-based company in the top 15% globally of all companies assessed by EcoVadis.
Wessex continues to demonstrate a strong ESG commitment, and their focus on improving environmental reporting and developing a more sustainable procurement offering, has helped achieve this Silver EcoVadis award.
EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, with a global network of more than 100,000 rated companies. EcoVadis evaluates how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability into their business and management system and illustrates performance across 21 indicators and four themes: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. “We’re delighted to have achieved the Silver Medal Award from EcoVadis, and to have shown continuous improvement. The recognition is credit to all the team at Wessex and demonstrates our commitment to our ever-increasing customer base,” says Sheldon Barter, Operations Manager at Wessex Packaging.
EcoVadis recognised the additional work that the team at Wessex have achieved over the last year, including introducing a fully renewable utilities supply and a companywide training programme covering environmental and people issues.
These new initiatives support Wessex’s existing sustainable procurement policy and their energy consumption and carbon emissions reduction projects.

EcoVadis re-accreditation takes place annually and the team at Wessex Packaging are actively working on recommended improvement plans in readiness of their 2025 audit.
Wessex Packaging is also ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified, and a BRCGS Storage and Distribution certified company.
