As the leading manufacturer of storage solutions in the UK, Whittan knows that adapting and meeting industry needs is crucial for remaining competitive and offering their customers solutions that meet business requirements.

Carl Bould’s appointment as the new Group Sales Director, coupled with major changes currently underway, marks an exciting time ahead for the company. As Whittan Group eagerly anticipates achieving new milestones and delivering unparalleled products and services in the coming months, the focus for the Group remains centred on prioritising its customers and addressing their evolving needs.

We talk to Carl to find out what’s in store for Whittan.

What was your role previously at Whittan?

Previously I was Managing Director for our trusted locker brands which include LinkLockers and Probe. I have recently been promoted to Group Sales Director and, with a 25-year career in sales, I’m incredibly excited to use my wealth of expertise to meet the challenges and developments this role will offer. Looking ahead over the next 12 months, Whittan has some exciting plans in place, and I can’t wait to get started on ensuring the success and strategic advancement of the Group.

What are your first priorities in your new role?

The Whittan Group already has a strong foundation to work with through our fantastic brands. This includes industry leading Link51 and Apex, alongside LinkLockers, Probe, Polypal, Polypal UK, HiStore and LinBins as well as our online one-stop-shop, Storage Direct. I’m looking forward to continuing to deliver exceptional results, exploring innovative opportunities and working closely with our talented sales team to achieve our objectives.

We also have a new sales strategy in place for Whittan’s trusted pallet racking, shelving and locker brands. We will be looking at how we can drive growth and foster stronger relationships with customers and partners of our Link51, Apex, LinkLockers and Probe products. Most importantly we’re exploring how we can propel our Link51 product to new heights.

What do you think drives the success of Whittan?

It’s the way we always focus on improvements that ultimately provide a benefit for our customers. At the moment we are heavily investing in our factories to enhance our manufacturing capabilities. Our Milton Keynes facility has undergone a major upgrade with the integration of new cutting-edge robotic welders, an enhanced paint plant and an advanced warehouse management system.

There are even more substantial developments underway, including the upcoming installation of a new multi-million-pound, state of the art, upright rolling line and a new beam rolling mill. Making these changes is essential to make us more efficient and agile so that we can be confident that our next generation products continue to suit the needs of our customers.

What changes can we expect from Whittan in the next 12 months?

Looking to the future, the Group is on an exciting journey.

Product development and innovation is essential to us, and we are now looking ahead at the needs of our customers and how we can help them to meet ever more stringent technical standards and challenging applications. That is why we are bringing to market a new pallet racking product range that utilises our new manufacturing assets and will ensure we are positioned to meet changing market requirements.

However, it is essential to reassure our customers that we are fully committed to ensuring the long-term availability of all our pallet racking product ranges and to support our customers with these products for many years to come.
