Elevate, (formerly known as Firestone Building Products) has launched a self-adhered EPDM roofing membrane for commercial and industrial projects.
RubberGard EPDM SA features a factory-applied adhesive which spans the membrane’s entire surface. With no need for bonding adhesives or drying time on site, it can be installed more than four times faster than a standard EPDM system and requires less labour.
Manufactured using Elevate’s Secure Bond technology, RubberGard EPDM SA provides a strong and uniform adhesion from edge to edge, ensuring a robust roofing system. It can be installed in temperatures as low as -7 °C and requires little or no maintenance minimising its lifecycle cost. If needed, it can be easily repaired using Elevate’s range of QuickSeam products.
Unlike standard bonding adhesives, the Secure Bond technology means RubberGard EPDM SA contains no solvents and is odourless. The absence of bonding adhesive also removes the need to dispose of empty cans minimising waste and costs. The only waste product generated by RubberGard EPDM SA is the polyethylene release film, which is recyclable.

Based on Elevate’s highly durable RubberGard EPDM roofing membrane, the self-adhered version has a life expectancy of more than 50 years. Highly flexible, it can accommodate expansion and contraction, and is resistant to UV exposure, ozone and extreme weather conditions.
A chemically inert material, EPDM has a low environmental impact. As it does not contain any plasticisers or antioxidants, which can migrate and cause premature aging, the membrane will not split or crack.
RubberGard EPDM SA can be supplied with Resista MG PIR insulation, vapour control layers and cover boards to provide a complete roofing system.
