While the UK generally favours hybrid mezzanines (built using hot-rolled primary beams and cold-formed joists) for large warehouse and distribution projects, the purely cold-formed design tends to be more popular for mezzanine floors in Europe. Having traditionally supplied hybrid mezzanines, MiTek recently added a cold-formed product to its range. “Our new cold-formed mezzanine has a lower environmental impact,” explains Rob Card, Technical Director for MiTek’s mezzanine operation in the UK. “Compared to a hybrid floor, it requires less material and offers faster lead times, although hybrid mezzanines remain the right choice for many applications.”

A new service has been launched by inotec UK, a free safety and maintenance survey for the appraisal of warehouse line marking. This complimentary service will be available for both internal and external line marking. It has been designed to offer advice on essential health and safety requirements of new line marking, upkeep of existing line marking as well as replacement lines should they be necessary.

CG Flooring Systems were recently approached by a client who is a leading supplier of cable management, identification, and termination solutions, as well as a variety of flexible and specialist cable products for their international customer base. The client is expanding their business and moving into a newly built warehouse where an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) system will form part of their operation. CG Flooring Systems were contacted for guidance on the suitability of the floor for the AMRs to operate on.
