No matter how efficient your light source or your luminaires, if they are ON when they could be OFF or they are providing more illumination than is necessary, you are wasting energy.
Energy prices are steadily increasing and no-one is forecasting a reduction anytime soon. Regulatory energy targets are getting tighter and tighter. Whilst newer, efficient LED lighting can offer immediate energy savings; connected lighting offers further savings through space optimisation.
You need to take control of your lighting energy costs now and this is where an integrated lighting controls solution, such as HolosAir from Holophane, can help.
Holos Air is a web-based, wireless control, monitoring and management system for lighting. It gives you, the user, complete freedom to commission, configure and control your lighting. What’s best of all is that it’s easy to set up and manage.
Early warehouse lighting control systems used to be complicated and unwieldy. If the use of the space changed or was physically reconfigured – which is common with warehouses and logistics, the lighting control systems were difficult to alter and often required specialist engineers.
Holos Air doesn’t have these problems. Installation and initial set up are easy and controls can be altered at the touch of a button on an Android tablet or other remote device.
What’s more, it is capable of controlling up to 200 Holos devices from one wireless gateway. This compares with DALI’s 64 devices. Not only that, but there is no limit to the number of gateways and, therefore, the number of devices which can be managed.
Luminaires are enabled by integrating either inbuilt wireless nodes or as part of a combined integral PIR and node.
As you would expect from a world leader in lighting technology, the HolosAir system has a complete range of control strategies available. This includes daylight harvesting, occupancy sensing, time scheduling, scene setting etc. The standard sensor is PIR which can be installed up to heights of 17m.
Set up is an easy two step process. Lighting is supplied with an integrated node. These then wirelessly “talk” to the HolosAir Gateway. This contains the light management application software.
The historical system data in the gateway allows for easy analysis and benchmarking for further optimisation of your lighting system. Results are shown on the intuitive user dashboard. This enables you to implement pro-active maintenance regimes and to reconfigure lighting groups as the space requirements change. You can check the status of the lighting at any time. There is also the facility to have different levels of access to the system.
