The UK’s leading designer and producer of components for the packaging industry, Item Products, will be using the forthcoming London Packaging Week 2022 event to showcase its ever-expanding product portfolio, including a collection of finishing products aimed at the more luxury end of the packaging market. The company is exhibiting on stand B40.

On display will be a range of 100% sustainable paper handles by Swedish manufacturer, Persson. Produced to suit any box or package, the fully sustainable paper handles are available in more than 100 variations and can hold up to 30kg in weight. The paper handles will be featured in the show’s Innovation Gallery, a spot reserved for the top 10 best innovations from this year’s exhibitors and in with a chance of winning the most innovative product award. Also on show will be high-end cords, ropes and braids in a variety of finishes from Spanish-based finishing specialist, LIASA.

Incorporating strong environmental messages as a core theme on their stand, Item Products will be promoting the phrase ‘reuse before recycling’ for all components in their product portfolio, meaning that all of their products can be reused time and time again before being recycled. Produced with either 100% or 30% recycled content material, the products are exempt from the plastic packaging tax and can be conveniently recycled in the domestic waste stream.

Standard products on display will include their all-new ‘Corra-Screw’, a reusable fixing for corrugated packaging, and Box Latch™, a carton closure device that is also reusable, and designed to enable corrugated packaging to be reused using a simple closure system, as opposed to tape or staples. Box Latch helps companies reach their waste reduction targets, improve supply chain sustainability and create leaner manufacturing. Other products from Item include interlock locking clips, designed to clip together multiple sections of corrugated board in a heavy-duty transit pack, standard and heavy-duty carrying handles, display hooks, euro studs and rivets for point of sale, as well as wheels and stabilisers to provide packaging mobility.

Julian Cook, Item’s managing director, said: “We are very much looking forward to exhibiting at London Packaging Week and showcasing our latest products. We have a well-established reputation in the marketplace for developing innovative, environmentally efficient finishing solutions and accessories and I’m sure that we can look forward to a busy and productive show.”
